Chart Rectification
Finding your true moment of birth
An exact birth time is the key that unlocks an entire chart — the Ascendant, the house positions of every planet, the precise degree of the Midheaven describing a person's public path. Without this anchor, a chart is incomplete.
Chart Rectification works backwards from significant life events — marriages, moves, losses, breakthroughs, accidents, career shifts — to identify the exact birth time that caused those events to align with transits and progressions. Detective work of the highest metaphysical order.
One of the most nuanced and time-intensive readings in astrology. Sessions may span multiple hours as Miri-am tests candidate times against a person's actual lived history.
Why location matters just as much as time
Birth location is just as critical as birth time — the same moment produces a different chart depending on where on earth someone was born. The time zone of the birthplace determines how local clock time converts to Universal Time used in chart calculation. Even a small difference in location can shift the Ascendant and house cusps significantly. Miri-am needs the birth city and state/country to pinpoint the exact time zone and coordinates.
If your birth time is uncertain, start here.
- ◆ Those born before birth times were consistently recorded
- ◆ Those whose hospital records were lost or unavailable
- ◆ Those who know only a general window — morning, afternoon, evening
- ◆ Anyone who suspects their known birth time may be off by minutes or hours
- ◆ Anyone wanting to use BaZi — which requires the Hour Pillar — but without a confirmed birth hour
A working birth time for everything that follows.
- → A confirmed birth time for all future astrological work
- → A complete natal chart cast to the rectified time
- → An understanding of your Ascendant, house cusps, and chart ruler
- → Confidence to proceed with Western, BaZi, Human Design, or Cards of Destiny readings
How Miri-am works.
Before the session, you compile a written list of key life events with approximate dates. The more events you can provide — especially ones with clear emotional or external impact — the more data Miri-am has to work with.
Miri-am then tests a range of candidate birth times against those events using Secondary Progressions, Solar Arc Directions, primary directions, and significant transits. Through elimination and confirmation, the chart gradually reveals its own truth — the time that makes the events make sense.
The Rectification Questionnaire asks about life events across every age segment:
Birth complications, family separations, deaths, relocations, siblings born, illness, school entry, financial upheavals in the family — any event that was significant, even if not fully understood at the time.
Graduations, relocations, family deaths, first significant relationships, illness or injury, career start, legal matters, spiritual awakenings, experiences that shaped identity.
College or career start, first home, marriage, divorce, children, relocations, graduate degree, significant health events, financial changes — the decade of establishing adult life.
Career milestones, significant relationships and their endings, children's milestones, relocations, losses, health events, grandchildren, retirement, estate changes — the full arc of adult life.
What to Prepare
- Birth date and location (city, state, country)
- Any known time range (morning, 7–9am, etc.)
- A written list of significant life events with approximate dates — the more the better
- Openness: the chart will confirm what's true, which sometimes surprises people
A detailed questionnaire is sent upon booking to help you organize your event list before the session.

Fill in as much as you can — exact dates are best, but month and year, or just the year, is also helpful. Leave blank anything that doesn't apply.
